Fortunately,
Jarrod Walton, who has worked closely with Karen over the
last 2 years is keen to buy a share in the Company and will
be taking over Karen’s role. Jarrod joined the team
at Chapmans in April 2008 and has worked with Karen on a
wide variety of clients and assignments. Jarrod’s
role at Chapmans has been wide and varied with a particular
focus on the preparation and review of monthly and annual
financial statements and providing specialist tax advice
to clients.
A graduate of Auckland University, Jarrod signed up as an
auditor with KPMG in 2001 where he contributed to the audits
of some of New Zealand’s largest corporate entities.
Once he obtained his membership to the New Zealand Institute
of Chartered Accountants in 2005 he took up an opportunity
to transfer to the KPMG tax division. As a manager in the
KPMG tax division, Jarrod provided tax compliance and consulting
services to a wide range
of clients including companies, individuals, trusts and
managed funds, and was a team leader responsible for a number
of staff members.
After 7 years of working in the city, Jarrod succumbed to
the irresistible force pulling him west and accepted a role
at Chapmans with the view of becoming a director.
Jarrod lives locally and has enjoyed assisting local business
to meet their compliance obligations as well as their wider
business goals. Jarrod has a philosophy of providing efficient,
accurate and timely accounting and tax assistance to clients
so they can get on with managing and driving their business.
Apart from spending time with his wife and two children,
Jarrod enjoys most sports including rugby, rugby league,
cricket and surfing. Jarrod plays cricket in the summer
and enjoys surfing (when the water is warm).
While
we are sad to be losing Karen as a Director, we are delighted
that she is continuing to work with us on a contract basis,
and are further delighted to welcome Jarrod as a Director
and Shareholder.
This will all take effect on the 1st April 2010.
We
want to assure you that you will continue to receive the
high level of service to which you have been accustomed.
Naturally this will bring with it some changes in responsibilities
for some clients work, however, we hope to minimize any
inconvenience to you.
If you have any concerns please do not hesitate to call
either Karen or Graham.

- oh yes, the food was good too.
